Why There Are Varicose Veins?
Invisible and painful varicose veins are a common problem for people in the elderly period of life who have reduced physical activity.
Varicose veins occur as a consequence of the weakness of the walls of these veins, or tiny whiskers that prevent the blood to flow in the wrong direction as it travels upwards from the legs back to the heart. Veins enlarge and become less effective. Condition of varicose veins can worsen with prolonged standing or sitting, because both cause to accumulate blood in one place. In severe cases, varicose veins can come to the surface of the skin and become very painful.
Varicose veins may be the result of genetic inheritance, and caused by exceptional stress in the abdomen (such as is the case in pregnancy). After is occurring in women four times more often than men, there is reason to suspect that the hormones have some sort of role.
